So 5 years ago, we decided to set up SSCOPE. We felt that our voices, opinions and experiences were not represented in new media. Not only were our voices under-represented, but at times co-opted to tell stories that were not grounded in our reality. So we founded SSCOPE.

SSCOPE is a platform dedicated to changing the narrative. We wanted to show that you CAN live, thrive and succeed as young black Muslims in the west by being your authentic selves, and not having to compromise your identity, values or principles. 

Fundamentally, we believe that we all have power, we have agency and we can have control. We just have to take it. We have to be in charge of our own stories and narratives, because no one can tell it better than we can. We don’t know what the future holds, but we are so excited to embark on this journey!
